Jigging charter
Jigging is the most dynamic and sporty technique of all: we use metal lures that move vertically, imitating an injured fish, to attract the fastest predators in the Mediterranean — horse mackerel, bonito, dentex, red porgy, amberjack or grouper. Unlike bottom or live bait fishing, here you keep working the rod to bring the lure to life, so as well as fishing, you get a good workout. It's a technique that hooks complete beginners and seasoned anglers alike.

What will you catch?
Because it covers the whole water column — from the seabed up to mid-water — jigging gives you access to a wide variety of species on a single trip: horse mackerel, mackerel, bonito, dentex, red porgy, amberjack, grouper and pollack. It's one of the techniques with the most catches per day, because the lure is always working and attracts any predator in the area, not just one sitting on the bottom.
Jigging uses a metal lure — the "jig" — that you drop to the bottom or to the depth where the fish are, then lift vertically with rod movements, imitating a small injured or fleeing fish. It's precisely that erratic movement that triggers the hunting instinct of big predators.
Unlike bottom or live bait fishing, you don't wait for a bite — you actively work the lure, bringing it to life in the water column. That makes it a more physical technique with constant action: there's no downtime, you're always working the rod.
Because it moves vertically through the whole depth — not just the bottom — the jig can meet species that hunt at different levels, which is why a single trip can bring in fish as different as a horse mackerel, a bonito or a grouper.
You don't need a fishing licence of your own. The trip runs under the boat's and the skipper's professional licence, so you can come along without any paperwork — just turn up at the marina.
On every trip you'll also be with our skipper, your local fishing guide in Marbella:
No fishing gear — rods, reels, lures and all the tackle are included. We just recommend comfortable clothes you can move freely in, non-slip shoes, sunglasses and sunscreen.
Yes, whether you've never fished or you're looking for something sportier than other styles. It's the ideal technique if you like staying active during the trip instead of sitting and waiting for a bite, and it's especially popular with anyone after more adrenaline or with more restless anglers. The skipper shows you the movement before you start, so no previous experience is needed.
We set off from Marina La Bajadilla in Marbella and head to the areas of the Costa del Sol where the depth and current are right for this technique — shoals, drop-offs and routes used by fast-moving species. The skipper picks the exact spot on the day, depending on where the fish are moving at that moment.
Marbella's marina is one of the most iconic spots on the Costa del Sol: a lively meeting point for locals and tourists right in the heart of the city. You'll find us at Marina La Bajadilla, 29603 Marbella, Málaga, with easy access by car, taxi or on foot.
Beyond your fishing trip, the marina is a destination in itself, with beachfront restaurants, nautical events and beach clubs. Find out more on the official Marbella marina website.

FAQ

It takes a bit more movement than bottom or live bait fishing, as you're the one working the lure by constantly lifting and lowering the rod. Even so, you don't need to be fit or experienced: the skipper adapts the pace and explains the technique before you start, and you can always take turns with the rest of the group if you fancy a break.
The trip is private: the boat is just for your group and is never shared with people you don't know. It's just you, up to 6 people, so the experience and the skipper's attention are all yours from start to finish.
You can take your catch home if you like, always respecting the legal minimum size for each species. If you prefer, we can also release it back into the sea in good condition — you decide on the day, and the skipper will advise you based on what you've caught.
It's the style with the widest variety of catches: horse mackerel, mackerel, bonito, dentex, red porgy, amberjack, grouper and pollack. Because the lure works the whole depth, you're not limited to a single bottom species — you can come across surface and reef fish on the same trip.
A maximum of 6 people per trip, so the skipper can look after the whole group properly and everyone gets their turn on the rod when a fish bites.
We offer two time slots: 7:30am or 4:00pm. You can choose the one that best suits your day when you book via WhatsApp.
